it is important that white men -- and I am a white male . . . recognize that we have advantages, straight from birth
that white women and all other people, male and female, do not
we can revel in this #advantage, the literal "white privilege", and hold on to it as a God-given right . . . or we can see that it is a cultural #idea that is not real and do something to make the world a more equitable and workable place in which to live
right now, the divide is most clearly (to me) between those who want to see "white privilege" as divinely given -- and will do anything (and I do mean anything) to keep it this way
and those who see life as a give and take among many different people . . . who want peace and stability and fairness
and aren't afraid of someone JUST because of their skin color
I am, quite literally, someone who will talk to other white men to their face and have this discussion
same holds true about having conversations with white men about allowing women to have positions of power; if they have the credentials and education to do so, then their gender shouldn't matter
it has to be done
white privilege is what is fucking up the world
not because it exists -- although that isn't fair and shouldn't be so
but, instead, because those who have enjoyed its perks all these years

and so they resort to a state of being 3 years old (no more perfect embodiment of their natural state than their poster boy icon of the moment, donald trump)

if the masters of the universe were truly masters, then they would welcome all comers to #compete
but they are afraid if the game isn't rigged straight from trump, they may not
and so, therein lies the madness
