not just in terms of loss of life but what I think will (long-term) be an even bigger "issue" -- the incredible costs associated with property losses in heavily populated areas
I have talked a LOT about the increased costs associated with these storms, suggesting (more than once) that a lot of high-priced real estate is going to get hammered hard
this is going to happen again this week
on top of that, I have been saying (too) that I expect bigger hurricanes to start making landfall along the Atlantic coast, specifically in North and South Carolina (yes, that is what I said, more than once)
but potentially all the way up the coast to Long Island and NYC
this is different now; the weather is different
and just because you like a certain place doesn't mean it is "immune" to getting blown away
I believe this is the "new normal"
and for a lot of people the new normal . . . ain't good
