the world is not going to end because of Covid 19 and, eventually, things will return to normal . . . but not before tens of thousands more deaths and more business + personal disasters
so, Mighty Unicorn Master, what do you predict is going to happen?
there is always, somewhere, a middle ground
I think this about the US economy: it is a giant and strong beast with a serious illness, not fatal, but enough to slow the beast down and leave a giant ouchie
some will prosper in the coming year, most will remain about the same but a small group (or maybe not so small) will be rocked hard core
they will lose their homes, their careers will be upended, they will go back to start and will not collect $200 for their troubles
I am guessing -- guessing . . . about 1 in 6 people will suffer quite dramatically in the days to come, that is about 16-17% of the country
this would still leave 83% of the country doing just fine so they can smugly look down at the 16.6666% who are steam rolled
and this will give those with ready cash a chance, like in 2008, to scoop up bargains from people willing to sell anything to survive
their labor, basically, #stolen
the economy, imo, is going to have some issues with people defaulting on mortgages, car payments, and credit cards
and businesses going bankrupt right and left
small businesses will be hit hardest and that is a terrible thing as small businesses are the life blood of this country and "the American Way"
and the drive to sanitize and franchise every single service under one giant corporate grand daddy continues to roll on
as to Covid 19, the longer people deny her power and call her a fake, the longer she will say "fuck ya very much"
and keep doing her thing, unchecked
ignoring the issue isn't solving the issue
so, hopefully, sooner than later . . . we collectively remember why we thought medical schools were important
and will pay attention to doctors and medical researchers more than the people on youtube
I don't want "viral" to refer to likes on Facebook with Covid 19; I want people to take this seriously
I think this "recognition" is still a ways off, unfortunately
stimulus package? less than before and no one is in a hurry to send it, unless it involves a country club or a mega-donor to trump
people will lose their homes in record numbers, imo
and even though one day, probably about a year off
the economy will be buzzin'
right now, the beast is sick
and will be spittin' up hairballs quite a bit in the days ahead
