On her mother's side, her grandmother was Queen Victoria . . . when she was 61, she remarried (against the wishes of most of her family; her first husband, a German Prince, was killed in World War I) and her 2nd husband was a 26 year old refugee (and "adventurer") from Russia named Alexander Zoubkoff
Brought up in fabulous wealth, she ended up auctioning off all her possessions due to her young husband squandering her money on "amusements" and was forced to move out of a Palace (literally) and move into a furnished one bedroom apartment, alone
Just as she was about to make a public announcement that she was divorcing her young husband on grounds that within her marriage "conjugal relations did not exist", she got pneumonia and died, age 63
her handsome young husband worked as a waiter and became a professional parachute jumper. He died in 1936, only 34 years of age
I saw this photo and "it spoke to me" :)
