Snooze

Climate change is no joke -- we inherited a magical system of checks and balances that worked in harmony with itself, even if sometimes the individual pieces didn't seem, on the surface, to matter so much

it is ironic that the attitudes of ignoring checks and balances playing out in American politics mirrors so strongly what's #wrong with our relationship to Mother Earth -- same people (basically) acting the same way . . . with (long term) likely the same result

destroying the oceans to get oil or leveling forests to make kitchen cabinets or heating the atmosphere to the point that certain plants or animals can't live any longer, not knowing the vital roles each plays in making it ALL WORK TOGETHER

is not a sustainable approach

the fools thinking only white people matter are the same fools who don't understand the value of ecological #diversity -- yes, it is wonderful we have computers and washing machines, electric can openers and TV's, airplanes and iPods -- but holy fuck, we're really making a mess of it all and when half the earth's creatures die off then well it is quite possible

we're, collectively, going to find ourselves in the next wave of #extinction right after

clang clang clang -- the alarm clock is going off

and hitting snooze is only going to work just so long
