and the fact that there is little neutrality is, to me, a pretty telling sign
I was not a Sylvia "fan" as I felt she was a bit too abrasive and abrupt in how she dealt with people and that bothered me
but as I said yesterday, being a "psychic" is a world FILLED with pressure and as someone who ONCE did criminal cases -- but no more . . . let me tell you, there is NO pressure to equal the expectant looks of a parent whose child has been kidnapped or murdered and they are hoping you will find them
I have been there -- nothing like it
soooooo, all this being said, I think it is important to remember that Sylvia was in the gun sights of a LOT of people, with a lot of different agendas, and to sit at the end of the barrel, as she did
well that is not an easy place to be
I know what it is like to have people tugging on you, looking for answers, never really leaving you alone . . . and my world was 1/1000 th of hers
all those eyeballs and broken hearts pointed her way, well (trust me) there is an emotional price tag that goes with all that
I am sad that she has passed and I hope people think of her and remember all the good things she did
because her death is significant, just as her life was significant
those who say such vile things about her now -- and I have read some of them -- are being (I believe) unfair to her memory
not to mention they are acting in a manner truly devoid of civility or dignity . . . but, I guess, we could just say "Welcome to the 21st Century"
no one gets to the place she was -- and STAYS THERE . . . without some really special magical gifts
and another pet peeve -- advertising your "services" on a post about her death is the tackiest of the tacky . . . such lack of class is truly disturbing to me but "Psychic World" is filled with fun rides and drunken carnies and is bound, at some point, to break your heart
soooo, once again -- a psychic tip of the hat from me to you, Sylvia Browne
respect is something that has to be earned and no matter any of our flaws, yours mine and everyone else, I believe you deserve some serious respect
*********************
as the expectations of what you're "supposed to do" go UP
the dynamics of how you "do it" are bound to change
it is not easy to do what "we do" on a big stage -- the speed at which you have to work is daunting in the beginning, not to mention any second thoughts you might have regarding your own "ability" to perform
before you go pointing fingers at others, please consider the path they may have walked
I was not a Sylvia Browne "fan" and there is a reason I say things are my "opinion" and not divinely inspired . . . plus I always make a point of letting people know just because I say it, doesn't mean I know "absolutely"
it is what I believe and I have a strong "faith" in my talents -- but I am human and that is just how it goes
all that being said, I find it very disconcerting to read what I am reading about poor Sylvia Browne . . . she has passed on and everything she's done (good AND bad) is being played out on a very public stage
how would the rest of us feel in this same situation; are any of us always right, always at our best
and immune to the pressures that go not only with being "psychic" but also being on TV
I have been a psychic on national TV and been an actor in films and am relatively at ease with it all -- but that is me
not everyone is equally comfortable and the pressure to "perform", truly, is immense
dignity, please -- let us allow this woman, who did so much for all of us in this "profession", because honestly she did, some peace in the world beyond
