you can't (and will never) "understand" Past Lives if you look for them to mirror what you see all around you
it is not a progression of one body to the next -- just as causal relationships between events in the Natural World are less straightforward than they may appear on the surface
so, too, the tenets of Reincarnation
. . . by identifying so strongly "with the body" - who's the prettiest, who's the strongest, who lives the longest
we are prone to see past lives as "bodily incarnations" first and foremost
even my own needle in a haystack hunt for matching faces to my own is partly rooted in this -- although my own personal "hunt"
recognized/recognizes the physical "form" is an abstract expression (Jackson Pollock as the divine) of a state of consciousness -- this is how I see myself, therefore I express myself with these features over and over
past lives are not "reincarnated bodies !!"
they are eternal expressions of consciousness
until you "get this" you will continue to miss the "truth" of how they "work"
