I am TRULY HAPPY to see the box score of tonight's Toronto-Texas game, a game won 5-0 by the Toronto Blue Jays
because in that game a rookie pitcher made his major league debut . . . striking out the first batter he faced, former AL MVP Josh Donaldson
and pitching a 1-2-3 scoreless 9th inning
this young rookie is 30 years old . . . and at one time was considered a "can't miss" prospect, the very first player taken in the amateur draft of Major League Baseball in 2004, a high school shortstop picked by the San Diego Padres
but for all his talent, he was plagued with "issues" -- one of the primary ones being alcohol addiction and a few years back his life took an even darker turn, as he hit a motorcyclist while driving drunk and went to prison

Because I predicted a lot of this and said, no matter what might happen (and I expected quite a bit), I said Matt one day would make it to the majors . . . and as a Pitcher
when he was drafted primarily as a shortstop !!
I did several readings "about Matt" -- not directly for him but for a close family member who consulted me several times, the first one being (I am guessing) around 2009
normally I don't name names of celebrity clients but in this case I am fudging a bit, and I didn't actually do the reading for Matt but rather a close member of the family
dreams matter, talent matters . . . 30 years old, once the brightest young star on the baseball horizon
his career derailed by alcohol, sentenced to almost 4 years in prison
and tonight, in the 9th inning of a game between the Blue Jays and Rangers, he walked out to the mound . . . his very first day "in the Show"
and struck out a former American League MVP and set down the heart of the Jays order without allowing a base runner
THIS is a story . . . one I am happy to see

A prediction -- and yes I made it directly for him years back when it seemed highly UNLIKELY that this one time Golden Boy #1 Overall Draft pick would ever make the majors, perhaps not even such a good bet he would even make 30
I said, in spite of whatever things would come -- one day he would play in the major leagues
Drafted as a Shortstop, I also predicted he would switch and become a Pitcher -- another prediction that seemed highly UNLIKELY
long long time coming . . . I probably said this first in 2009 or 2010 and repeated it years later when NO ONE would have thought it possible
I second guessed it a bit but still stuck to my conviction he would play Big League Ball . . . one day
