long ago -- literally in another century (the 1990's), I kept telling people that someday in the not too distant future
people would wear cell phones and mini-computers in a watch-like device on their wrist
"like Dick Tracy"
this was back when cell phones were not very common, and were both expensive and HUGE
and "mini-computers" . . . were Gameboys
if I have used this Dick Tracy wrist radio metaphor once, I used it 50 times and have continued to write about it and talk about it over the past 20-25 years
like other crazy things I talked abou back then: "skinny TV's you hang on the wall",
"cameras that take photos that you take connect to the computer via some cable and then 'manipulate'" . . . and "wireless communication -- EVERYTHING for the computer will be done without cables"
all of which no one believed and typically they could not even visualize as being "possible"
madmen are mad until they are later proven to be correct
this impossible "who are you, George Jetson?"
. . . "vision"
has ALSO come to pass in less than 25 years
I talked about these things all happening within my lifetime -- I was in my 30's then, I am in my 50's (just barely hahaha) now
