Most people (I think anyway) tend to think of "karma" (if they think of it as all) in a kind of an "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" kind of way

but in my opinion, this is not how it works. I have said (many many many times) that what "reincarnates" is an emotional template and the way "karma" is initiated
is through being drawn, like an addict needs alcohol or heroin, to certain types of situations or relationships
because you are "stuck" in a certain way of seeing the world
which is the same thing as saying you're stuck in a certain way of seeing yourself
karma is not about "retribution"; karma is quicksand that you keep falling into because you haven't discovered that this particular part of the world will suck you in
and "cause you problems"
your addiction to certain styles of being is how karma is initiated
and breaking these "patterns" is how you break the karmic "loop"
