think about those numbers . . . this was an online show, with no publicity, zero advertising budget, no fancy pedigree . . . just two "entertaining" psychics who played well off each other and were absolute badasses doing live readings
Allie was the bigger "star" and the one who drew the most attention; I was kind of the Dean Martin to her Jerry Lewis and I was the one who branched off, wanting to be my "own thing" even though, by far, the greatest radio success either of us ever had was when we worked together
she was incredible -- funny as fuck, brilliant, an outlaw whose energy matched mine so magically . . . what we had really was magic
in large part because we each brought our own very unique "psychic skills" and psychic "personas"
she would say things that made me CRAZEE like "our hunky astrologer is single and ready to MINGLE, girls !!" . . . stuff like that :)
OMFG :) . . . but that was Allie and then there were always the "Funkytown Uranus" specials and "theme shows" and in those she was Lucy and I was some sort of Rick Ricardo - James Bond - Fabio hybrid
but more than all other things, the reason our shows "worked" and brought us each the kind of attention it did was because we truly cared about each other, respected each other, loved each other
a unique partnership -- one that (had she lived) would have happened again.Allie Cheslick and I were getting ready to "re-launch" our shows together one more time
but it was not meant to be . . . she was my pal, my buddy, my "partner"
I am going to miss her so much; one of a kind?
Dear God, yes -- one in a million, without a doubt
thank you for 11 magical years of your friendship and love; we learned a lot from each other
and I appreciate you and your presence in my life more (even much as I have written over the past 48 hours !!) than I can ever say
